Submission for SEGA's mascot design contest. Fun. Energy. Future. Japan. Those are some of the keywords that come to mind when thinking of SEGA. With this design, I tryied to incorporate these ideas - an fun loving character full of energy, with a furturistic design, but also drawing inspiration from traditional japanese clothing. The iconic blue and whith colortheme of the SEGA logo complete the design. Furthermore, it was important to make an character that is neither distinctively male nor female, as both geneders enjoy SEGA's games, and should therefore be represented.

English title: Paper Crane // EN: I was inspired by Japanese wall scrolls when making this render. I tried to make it look like a painting using various effects to make a render look painted. I used lots of reds and yellows like wall scrolls usually have, and had a crane as the main subject as cranes are very common in Japanese paintings. Initially this was just a generic render of a crane, but after noticing its resemblance to a wall scroll I decided to change the direction of the render and give it a painted look, inspired by scrolls. It was a lot of fun to make and I think it came out beautifully! This render is highly experimental, in a style I've never tried out before, but I want to make more like it. Render ideas are always welcome! ちょっと発想を変えて、他のことをやってみたくなったんです． そこで、Blenderで3Dの "セバスチャン・ミカエリス" ランプを作ることを思いつきました。 (その後、MMD用に変換しました）。 このようなことをするのは初めてで、簡単ではありませんでしたが、aka_Sei01さん（Twitter）には「押し出し」部分の問題で助けていただき、とても感謝しています。この後、アンダーテイカーとグレルのランプをもう2つ作ろうと思っています。 その前に、ランプのディテールがよくわかるようなデモビデオも作ろうと思っています^^。 ---------- To change the ideas a little, I wanted to do something else ... so I had the idea of creating my "Sebastian Michaelis" led lamp in 3D with Blender. 休み明け予想してない人に年賀状を手渡しされまして、個人では年賀状を書かないので急遽列車移動の時にiPadMiniのAdobe ideasで描きました。使ったことのある人はわかると思いますが思った線はかけませんが意外とかわいく描けたので投稿します。
